Workshop Title: Sample Management Planning for the Future and Solving Your Problems
Abstract:
This benchmarking session is 4th in the series of RTS’ sample management workshops designed to share best practice, inform and stimulate discussion on issues facing sample management professionals, and will discuss past experiences, in both compound and sample management, alongside today’s day to day issues and the perceived future trends, techniques and solutions that may be implemented. Sample Management Groups constantly strive to improve efficiencies and reduce costs yet, the industry has changed dramatically over recent years and continues to evolve. Many factors will have an impact on the future; from corporate changes such as mergers and rationalization, through advances in technology and science to individual company goals, aspirations and techniques. As a result, the future is uncertain, it will be influenced by a variety of factors and changes in sample management will have to be addressed.
What will be covered:
· Lessons for the future when planning an automated store
· The big problems in Sample Management today
· A review of existing and potential technologies
· Attendees will be asked to complete an online questionnaire prior to the workshop. The anonymous results of the survey will be shared as part of the workshop

About your workshop leader:
Chris Walsh is a chartered engineer with a degree in Electronic and Control Systems Engineering. He is Product Manager for Sample Management at RTS. The workshop will be supported by leading figures from within the field of Sample and Compound Management.
